Yet, with the rise of advanced hunting and fishing technology, global commercialization, trade, and more, interactions between people and their prey have changed profoundly. This vulnerability meant that survival depended heavily on avoiding predation, leading to the development of traits like cooperation, socialization for group defense, and intelligence to outsmart attackers. Mammals are mostly taken to become people food, while birds, reptiles and amphibians are mainly trapped to live in captivity as pets.
